Shane D. Aaron, AIA
Narrate Design
Shane is a Partner at Narrate (formerly Selser Schaefer Architects) and has been with the firm for 17 years. When he stepped up to become a partner in 2017, Shane embraced the leadership position as well as adding Finance and HR to his duties as Principal-in-Charge of our ongoing H-E-B Grocery projects, on-call Space Planning and Interior Design services as well projects at Philbrook Museum of Art and for the Muscogee Creek Nation.
Shane is a creative and meticulous architect, but he is also much more. His business experience plays a key role in the day-to-day operations, employee relations, and long-term financial success of the firm. Shane is also a generous teacher and mentor who fosters an environment to grow and learn. He is patient, thoughtful, and precise resulting in authentic connections with his teammates and clients and, ultimately, successful projects.
Outside of the office, Shane contributes greatly to the Tulsa community, serving in a variety of leadership roles supporting causes and initiatives both in and out of the field of architecture. He donates his time and talents generously, all while maintaining the level of professionalism and performance that anyone who knows him has come to expect.
Gary Armbruster, AIA
MA+ Architecture
Gary Armbruster is an experienced architect with more than 26 years of experience in leading facility design and has been a principal architect and partner at MA+ since 1996. He is a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master of Architecture.
As one of only six Accredited Learning Environment Planners (ALEP) in Oklahoma, Gary’s passion for learning and children has driven his work in designing educational facilities that foster optimal learning environments. He is also a dedicated member of the Christian community and spearheads design for the firm’s religious and faith-based projects. Gary’s expertise in education and school security design has earned him a reputation as a nationally recognized public speaker at national conferences for AIA and A4LE.
Raul Baeza, RA, RID
Raul Baeza is a freelance Architect/Interior Designer in San Antonio/Austin, TX and an Adjunct Professor at Texas State University. With over 17 years in the industry, Raul brings his experience with interior architecture, environmental graphics, and furniture design to provide clients with a complete vision. He has designed spaces for clients including, Q2, Google, Dropbox, LegalZoom, SailPoint, and Galvanize.
Mr. Baeza has been published in Interior Design Magazine, Metropolis Magazine, Interiors + Sources, On Office, and The Business of Furniture magazine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architects from the University of Texas San Antonio. He is a licensed architect and Interior Designer in the state of Texas.
Andrew Brister, AIA

Andrew Brister is the Director of Operations for GreenLight 360 in Tulsa. He is a Licensed architect and entrepreneur providing Building Information Models, building reference scanning, 3D models, 360° photographic references, virtual tours and architectural photography.
Daniel Butko, AIA
The University of Oklahoma
As an architect, educator, and acoustical consultant, Daniel Butko has combined interests in music, design, and science throughout his 30+ year career. Notable recognition includes: EPA P3 Award, ASA Rossing Prize in Acoustics Education, Architect R+D Award, AIA OK Outstanding Educational Contributions Award, and various AIA project awards. Since joining OU Gibbs College of Architecture in 2010, Daniel has fulfilled administrative roles including his current position as Director of the Division of Architecture; taught design studios and lecture courses; led architectural acoustic research; and advised students on award-recognized projects.
Dr. Tracy Brower, PhD, MM, MCRW
Author
Dr. Tracy Brower is a PhD sociologist studying happiness, the future of work and work-life fulfillment. She is the author of The Secrets to Happiness at Work and Bring Work to Life. She is the vice president of workplace insights with Steelcase and a senior contributor to Forbes and Fast Company. Her work has been translated into 22 languages. In addition, Tracy is on Advisory Boards for the Kids Food Basket, the Design Museum Everywhere (now the CoDesign Collaborative), Hope College’s Center for Leadership and the Michigan State University Master of Industrial Mathematics Program.
Marjorie P. Callahan, AIA

Marjorie P. Callahan is a full-time professor, licensed architect with a degree from the University of Massachusetts.

Kate Cofer, AIA, IIDA, PMP
KKT Architects
As Principal and Business Engagement Lead at KKT Architects, Kate oversees design strategy for a multitude of projects within the office. Her passion is for designing thoughtful environments that shape human experiences with a focus on project management, mentorship, and client engagement. Her work has received numerous national and state design awards and she is most excited to make connections that build progress, accountability and efficiency. She earned a Master of Real Estate Development from New York University, a Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University, and a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Oklahoma State University. She is an adjunct professor at Oklahoma State University School of Architecture, a YWCA Tulsa Board Member, and a NAAB Accreditation Visiting Team Member. She is currently serving as the AIA Eastern Oklahoma Chapter President and was recognized as the 2023 AIA EOK Outstanding Member of the Year.
Lila Cohen, AIA
Prairie House Preservation Society
Lila Cohen practices architecture in San Francisco, CA. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). Her architecture work is committed to collaborating with community nonprofits who serve the Bay Area’s most vulnerable populations through supportive housing and multipurpose developments. She co-authored with Herb Greene “Generations: Six Decades of Collage Art and Architecture Generated with Perspectives from Science” (ORO Editions, 2015). She has presented Greene’s work at the Monterey Design Conference, Palm Springs Modernism Week, the Architecture + The City Festival in San Francisco, UCSF, The School of Architecture at Taliesin, and the University of Oklahoma. Lila is a board member of the Prairie House Preservation Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoration preservation and development of Herb Greene’s Prairie House built in 1961 in Norman, OK. A designer of small spaces that promote the use of repurposed materials, she appeared on “Tiny House Hunting” and has worked with international organizations like the Mmofra Foundation in Accra, Ghana to promote Herb Greene’s Armature concept. Lila is currently working on directing and producing a feature-length documentary film about organic architecture through the lens of Herb Greene’s life and career. Cohen earned an Architecture degree, cum laude, from the University of Arizona.
Josh Dougherty, P.E., LEED AP BD+C

Josh was born and raised in Oklahoma City. Strong in math and a desire to create, engineering found him early in his college career. He attended Oklahoma State University, majoring in civil engineering, and spending his free time visiting (some would say harassing) the architecture students in studio. While not creative enough to be an architect himself, Josh realized architecture students were more fun and exciting to be around than engineering students…which is why he’s here today.
After graduation, Josh began his career as a civil engineer doing site design for projects across the nation. His role evolved into project manager leading multi-discipline design teams and then into business development. He has been at CEC for almost 10 years and serves as the Regional Community Business Leader continuing to look for opportunities to serve the industry with CEC’s full suite of engineering and survey services and developing lasting relationships with clients…and still harassing architects.
Josh has been married to Kendra for 15 years and they have two daughters, Addy and Ellie (11and 9 years old).

Rand Elliott, FAIA, is President of Rand Elliott Architects, a distinguished architecture and architecture interiors firm he founded at 27. With over four decades of experience, Rand has garnered 355 awards at international, national, regional, and local levels, including ten National AIA Honor Awards. His innovative designs have appeared in 85 books and 375 publications worldwide, showcasing his unique blend of functionality and individuality.
Ronald H. Frantz, Jr., FAIA

Frantz is a graduate of the Tulane School of Architecture in New Orleans. His work focused on historic preservation, Main Street restoration, and neighborhood revitalization. For 43 years, Frantz worked in many small Oklahoma towns. Much of his work was with the Oklahoma Main Street Center and the OU College of Architecture. Recently, Frantz retired to focus on his small Oklahoma City-based consulting firm, co-founded with his wife, Mary.
Sarah Gould, AIA

Sarah Gould stays involved in overseeing the management and customer service for clients, as well as phases of the project including the building and site design, master planning, construction documents, and construction administration. Gould is a proven leader who focuses on relationships, communication, compassion, and inclusion. Sarah’s passion is to deliver environments that provide the best possible user experience and lead to better living.
Patricia Gruits, AIA, LEED AP
MASS Design Group
Patricia Gruits believes that our built environment reflects our shared values and shapes how we relate to one another. Her work as an architect and researcher is rooted in the possibility of shaping a more just, beautiful, and connected world.
At MASS Design Group, Patricia is a Co-Executive Director, supporting the strategy, development, operations, finance, design, and governance of the North American studios. Her decade-long tenure has seen her working at MASS’s Boston Studio and in the Africa Studio, where she led design teams on acclaimed projects, including the African Leadership University, the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, and the Maternity Waiting Village in Malawi. She is currently leading the design for the headquarters of Children’s Services of Roxbury and several affordable housing projects for older adults and vulnerable populations.
Patricia shares her expertise and experiences by advising, teaching, and through speaking engagements. She sits on the Board of the Boston Society for Architecture and has taught at esteemed institutions like the Rhode Island School of Design and Northeastern University. She frequently speaks at national and local AIA events, including the AIA 2022 National Convention where MASS received the Architecture Firm Award. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to architecture, Patricia received the 2020 Flansburg Young Designer Award from the Boston Society for Architecture.
Patricia holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Shane Hood

A multidisciplinary designer whose work merges architecture, interiors, graphics, and historical narratives to create spaces that are both functional and emotionally resonant. His belief in the power of physical environments to influence behavior and reveal historical context guides his approach to design, fostering community interaction and inclusivity. Hood serves on the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and Tulsa Preservation Commission, where he influences development and advocates for architectural and design precedent. In addition his commitment to Oklahoma’s architectural legacy extends to his work with the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture, the Prairie House Preservation Society, the Goff Center of the Continuous Present, the Tulsa Spotlight Theater and co-founding the Lortondale Neighborhood Association.
Wanas Jasim, Assoc. AIA, EDAC

Wanas Jasim, Assoc. AIA, EDAC, is a healthcare architectural designer at KKT Architects, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma, specializing in diverse healthcare projects. With a Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Architectural Studies (Health and Wellbeing) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she excels as a dual-role project manager and designer. Wanas has been a Professional Affiliate Member of the Center for Health Design since 2023.
Currently leading the design for a 330-bed behavioral health hospital in Oklahoma City, she continues to shape patient-centric environments through collaboration and innovative design narratives.
Shekoofah Khedhri, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP (BD+C)

Shekoofah Khedhri has proven experience spanning over 25 years, supported by a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from UAE University, a master’s degree in city and regional planning, and a graphic design degree from the University of Pennsylvania (Weitzman School of Design & Wharton Business School).
During the first decade of her career, she held a leadership position at one of the world’s leading quasi-government agencies, Nakheel. This international exposure provided opportunities to demonstrate leadership capabilities in various tasks, including leading a multidisciplinary team producing in-house design, and overseeing projects produced by private firms. The second decade of her career has been spent in the private sector designing hundreds of retail projects under single a corporate banner. Currently, she holds an architectural supervisory role at a federal agency.
Gracie Kimbrell
The University of Oklahoma
As an OU Architecture graduate student, Gracie Kimbrell has completed Daniel Butko’s architectural acoustics course and continues guided research on transportation, environmental factors, and the role of AI in architectural acoustics. Gracie is a designer at CWA Group in Norman, has received a Gibbs Design Activism Award grant to pursue community engagement research with Sisu Youth, Inc. in OKC, and previously received two AIA Louisiana Awards.
Nicole Mater

Nicole Mater, RA, is Director of Product at PROVING GROUND. As a licensed architect, Nicole combines her professional experience and technology expertise to create meaningful solutions for improving digital workflows. She is passionate about developing user-centered, efficient solutions that resolve industry-wide pain points in design, construction, and operations. She utilizes her breadth of experience to align our product vision to the needs and aspirations of its user base.
Connie McFarland, FAIA
McFarland Architects
McFarland has been an active AIA Member since 1974 while in college at Oklahoma State University. She was President of the Tulsa Chapter AIA in 1985; President of AIA Oklahoma in 1998 and she was the Chairman of the AIA Trust in WDC in 1999. She was Chair of the National AIA Risk Management Committee in 1992, 1993 and 2004. Most recent, in 2014, she was the National President of the American College of Healthcare Architects. She has architecture degrees from both OSU and The University of Oklahoma. McFarland Architects, her firm, is celebrating 36 years of practice on November 1, 2024.
Over her 50-year span as a practicing Architect, she has focused on public work projects including healthcare and higher education. Current projects include banking facilities for ARVEST and they are currently completing the design for the new Commercial Passenger Terminal for Stillwater Regional Airport.
Connie is the founder of Urban Sketchers Tulsa and is the Chapter Administrator of the Tulsa Chapter. USk has over 477 chapters and is an international organization bringing together field sketch artist to capture their community and share those images with the world.
Manuel Navarro, IIDA
IA Interior Architects
Manuel Navarro, Design Director and a Principal of the Austin office of IA Interior Architects, collaborates closely with his teams and clients to design spaces that inspire and create delight out of the everyday moment. He drives curiosity, experimentation, and out of the box problem-solving; taking inspiration from fashion, art and travel. For the last 18 years, he has designed dynamic spaces for various REIT’s and Fortune 100 technology and financial-services clients; these include household names such as Dropbox, PayPal, and TikTok. He has also guest lectured at various schools and has collaborated with Tarkett as a product designer.
Manuel holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Colorado State University and Master of Interior Design from Harrington College of Design in Chicago. He is a licensed Interior Designer in the state of Texas and has been published in Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Record, Texas Architect, and the Austin Business Journal.
Camille Nassar Owens

As business development officer for Nabholz Construction Corporation, Camille forms a bridge between client, contractor, and community. She is responsible for the cultivation of relationships and business to strategically understand clients’ needs.
Camille’s passion for improving her community and state extends across many nonprofit committees and boards such as Jenks Chamber of Commerce, Child Advocacy Network (CAN) , OCCJ, Philbrook Museum of Art, Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa, A New Leaf, and the Tulsa Regional Chamber.
Camille is a graduate of Leadership Tulsa Class 55 and Leadership Oklahoma (LOK) Class 35 where she is also co-chair for the 2024 Tulsa Session. Camille has been named in 40 Under 40 recognitions by Tulsa Business & Legal, Oklahoma Magazine, and The Journal Record.
Camille attended the University of Oklahoma where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism – Public Relations. She and her husband, Jeremy, reside in Tulsa with their sons, Harrison and Henry.
James Pfeiffer, AIA

James Pfeiffer is a Principal at BNIM whose strengths are centered around design, culture, and people. He is an award-winning designer and collaborator with a broad range of notable, significant project experience including higher education projects, cultural facilities, office buildings, adaptive reuse and civic spaces. James’ leadership and approach to human-purposed integrated design has resulted in quantifiable positive outcomes for his clients. His work has been recognized for design excellence and sustainable stewardship by national entities like the American Institute of Architects, Architectural Record, and the US Green Building Council.
James has presented both regionally and nationally at conferences for organizations including the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and has served as an adjunct professor and co-teacher for a comprehensive design studio at Kansas State University.
Matthew Radcliffe, AIA

Matthew Radcliffe is the Chief Operating Officer at Mass Architects in Oklahoma City. Dwayne A. Robinett, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, CPD

Dwayne Robinett, AIA, serves as the Senior Vice President and Managing Principal at HFG Architecture. Seeing the increase in violence and the need for enhanced safe design throughout healthcare, his foresight in the industry led him to earn the CPTED certification, making HFG one of the only firms to employ architects and designers certified through the NICP. With over 20 years of experience, he has worked on over 300 healthcare projects, demonstrating his specialized knowledge as a healthcare architect and accomplished medical planner. Dwayne’s career is hallmarked by a dedication to the health, well-being, and overall safety of patients, healthcare providers, families, and the surrounding community. He is a licensed architect in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, is an AIA member, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Kristen Schulte, RA

Kristen Schulte, RA, is Director of Enterprise Applications at PROVING GROUND. As a licensed Architect and experienced manager, Kristen joined Proving Ground with firsthand insight into the opportunities of applying new processes and technologies in architectural practice. Kristen has created numerous tools and systems that support the implementation of enterprise-wide adoption of capabilities including model data extraction, BIM automation, and content management.

Whit joined GH2 in 2022 as a design-centic leader, with the wholehearted belief that the most successful projects respond directly to the client’s goals. As Director of Design for KKT Architects, Francis pairs theoretical visioning charrettes with client-focused project design to help develop a culture of forward-thinking solutions within the office. His passion for pushing design boundaries and finding synergetic relationships within project constraints leads to the design of non-traditional spaces that create new opportunities for living, learning, working, and playing. He was AIA Oklahoma’s Young Professional of the year in 2020 and serves as Vice President of AIA Oklahoma.
Mary E. Womble, AIA

Mary E. Womble, AIA holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kansas and started her career in private practice for 15 years before transitioning to the role of Owner’s Representative Project Manager for the City of Tulsa. Mary currently serves as the City Projects Design Manager of the City Design Studio. She has served on multiple selection committees for Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers and Artists in her 15+ years at the City for a wide variety of public and public-private capital projects.
Garron Yepa, Assoc. AIA, AICAE
MASS Design Group
Garron joined MASS Design Group as a Senior Designer in 2022 through MASS’s strategic partnership with AOS Architects, where he was employed for nine years. Garron was born and raised in New Mexico and brings his cultural and regional knowledge to every architectural project. As the son of a Navajo (Dine) mother, and a Jemez Pueblo (Towa) father, Garron has a unique perspective on architecture and design. Being a fluent Towa speaker has given him insight into another way of describing the world around him. He has continued his learning with extended stays in New Hampshire, Alaska, and New York City – always returning home to restore his grounding in his communities. He has worked on a wide range of projects including commercial interiors, affordable housing, hospitality, and historic preservation.
Garron has a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering and Native American Studies from Dartmouth College and a Master of Architecture from the University of New Mexico. Garron currently sits on the board of directors of Cornerstones Community Partnerships and is a member of the Cultural Properties Review Committee of the New Mexico State Historic Preservation Office.
